Informal one-to-one mentoring sessions for Greater Manchester based startups and entrepreneurs.
September is back to school for many, and we are no exception with MTT’s next one-to-one mentoring session taking place on the morning of the 28th September.
I am excited about September’s event for two reasons. Firstly, we will be one of the first events to utilise MSP’s brand new Bright Building (pictured) which is a great space for the sessions. In addition, we again have a great group of mentors joining us!
Ian Brooks – Founder & director at thestartupfactory.tech
Ian has spent the last ten years as a hands-on advisor, investor and non-executive director for startups and high growth entrepreneurial businesses. As a Lean Startup advocate and practitioner his focus is software, digital, disruptive technology and business service organisations. Ian guides and mentors exceptional entrepreneurs and helps turn their innovative ideas into successful high-growth businesses and create shareholder value.
Steve Oliver – Co-Founder and CEO at Entertainment Magpie Limited
Steve is the Co-Founder and Group CEO of musicMagpie. Having started in his garage in Stockport in 2007, musicMagpie is now the UK’s biggest trader of pre-owned media & consumer electronics, being the world’s biggest seller on both Amazon & eBay and will turnover in excess of £100m for the first time in this financial year. It employs over 1,000 mainly in its Stockport DC but also has a US business, decluttr.com, based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Garry Partington – Chairman, Apadmi
With more than 20 years of experience and a deep understanding of the mobile industry, Garry knows what it takes to create and deliver successful mobile-based products. Garry serves as Chairman of Apadmi, a multi award-winning international mobile technology company, which he founded in 2007.Garry also founded RealityMine, winner of the Queens International Trade Award, a VC-backed big data and analytics business to the media and market research industries.
Mark Payne – Investor and Entrepreneur, MD GetintheLoop
Mark supports organisations through significant change; from identifying start-up business models, driving business acceleration and revenue growth to reorganization and business turnaround. With focus upon startups and early stage companies in the technology and creative worlds. Mark has been a founder, CEO, board director, mentor, advisor, investor and coffee maker, living and working internationally.
The objective of these events is to let early stage start-ups connect with experienced tech entrepreneurs one-to-one and advisors who will try to answer their questions as well as constructively challenge their current assumptions.
The format is open and free flowing and aimed at helping you get the advice you need to deal with your most pressing business challenges. To help our mentors understand your business, please be prepared to begin your meeting with a 5 -10 minute summary (slides not required) including:
