Ian Hetherington
Ian is a renowned figure in the games industry and a lifelong pioneer.
He founded legendary games studio Psygnosis (Lemmings; Wipeout), which sold to Sony in ‘93. He then became MD of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, where he helped design and implement the hardware and software for the Playstation, and oversaw the development of its European launch catalogue. The seismic impact and success of the Playstation needs no explanation.
He has created >£500m of exits and most recently founded WRLD3D, a 3D mapping platform facilitating the efficient creation of virtual worlds.
Current projects include: mobile gaming, 3D mapping, VR, LIDAR object recognition and language learning video gaming. He also sits on the Advisory Board of the UK/Lebanon Technology Hub and the British Games Institute.
