Mike Emmerich

Mike has experience at HM Treasury, where he was one of the founding members of the Productivity Team and was a Senior Adviser in the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit.

For over eight years prior to Metro Dynamics, Mike was the Chief Executive of New Economy, initiating the Manchester Independent Economic Review. He has also participated in a number of high profile reviews including the City Growth Commission and London Finance Commission. Mike played a central role in the development and negotiation of the  Manchester devolution deals prior to setting up Metro Dynamics and has played a key role in deals in other areas since then.

Mike is a member of the Policy Committee of the Centre for Economic Performance at the LSE and is a Policy Fellow of the Centre for Science and Policy at Cambridge University. He is a Governor of the Royal Northern College of Music, a Director of Manchester Camerata and a Trustee of the Tutor Trust.
