Professor Robin Bargar
Robin Bargar comes from Chicago with a creative technology background that includes computer music, interactive media and virtual reality. In 2015 Robin established the Studio for International Media & Technology at MediaCityUK, University of Salford, as Professor of Arts and Media and Professor of Computing Sciences and Engineering. He leads Salford’s Digital and Creative Industry Collaboration Zone, which develops industry partnerships and projects with interdisciplinary teams across the University.
Robin was previously Dean of the School of Media Arts at Columbia College Chicago and Dean of the School of Technology and Design at the City University of New York. Trained as a composer and filmmaker, at University of Illinois Robin performed and directed research at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications and the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. Recognition for his creative work includes an Oscar nomination and two US Patents for interactive sound and media technologies.
