Director and Founder Zeus Capital

Richard Hughes

An award-winning financier and investor, Richard Hughes co-founded leading independent investment bank Zeus Capital in 2004.

Under his leadership, the firm has continued to demonstrate the highest quality advice to clients across a range of sectors and transactions. In particular, the firm has highlighted its breadth of knowledge of public market deals, being responsible for the renaissance of the IPO in 2014. This included high profile transactions for boohoo.com, DX Group and Safestyle UK, with Zeus Capital raising more than 42 per cent of all money on London’s Alternative Investment Market in that year.

This strong form has continued over the past two years, with Hughes instrumental in a number of the firm’s largest successes. Deals for BCA Marketplace, Conviviality and Purplebricks all topped the £200m mark, and in March 2016, Hughes led the £255m IPO of leading developer and constructor of student accommodation Watkin Jones, including a £131m fundraising.

In total, more than £2.9bn has been raised by Zeus Capital over the last three years.
